France Finally Decides to Join the War Against ISIS

It’s about time France finally decided to join the war against ISIS.  According to the office of the French presidency, France has finally fired its first airstrikes against the terrorist organization,ISIS.  France destroyed a whole ISIS training camp in Syria and have made it clear that their goal is to diminish ISIS forces.  France has made it clear that they will elaborate their war on ISIS and have made it clear that they are ready to do whatever it takes to eliminate ISIS.  There are many events that have happened within France and outside the country that has provoked the country to make this decision.

For example, in January, a terrorist attack in Paris killed 12 people and the following day the same ISIS terrorists killed a policewoman.  This is one of many examples that have compelled France to join forces and start war on ISIS.  The prime minister of France, Manuel Valls, says “We are acting in self defense”.  In addition, many countries such as the U.S. and England have pressured France to join the fight against ISIS.

In my opinion, I believe France’s decision to join the fight against ISIS is a morally great decision but not a very good economic decision for the country. I believe the main reason why France decided to fight ISIS was because the people wanted the terrorist attacks in France to stop. Overall, France’s controversial action to attack ISIS was carefully considered and planned.

Child Trafficking In India

Have you ever thought about what life children on the other side of the globe have?  Think about this; You are a ten year old kid who has just been kidnapped from your parents after following a man with a funny mask who lured you with tasty-looking candy.  Your kidnappers demand you to beg on the streets for money. So you beg for about eight hours a day.  At the end of the day, your kidnappers count up the money you made for the day.  If you didn’t make enough money for the day, your kidnappers would blind you or cut off some of your body parts (Your kidnappers believe that if you are blinded or amputated, you will look more vulnerable and can make more money).

This is what happens to children in India every single day.  A child could be kidnapped for many different reasons such as begging, sex-trafficking, labour, and organ trade.  These events usually take place in densely populated cities such as Mumbai because it is much easier to kidnap a child when children get lost often.  Sometimes the child might be an orphan living on the streets which makes kidnapping the child even more easier.  In extreme cases, parents might sell their own child for sex trafficking or child labour in order to meet their own basic necessities.  The parents have also been through the process of sex trafficking and therefore are indifferent to their kids being taken away because the parents just want a better life.

Occasionally, a child in India will be deceived into giving up an organ to a trafficker.  Organs can sell for substantial amount of money for a person from abroad.  For example, a man with one kidney might buy an organ trader from India for a huge sum of money.  Sometimes innocent children don’t even know that the trafficker has evil intentions for them.  Most places where these kinds of events happen are in poor states or cities because the police will not have the resources to catch the traffickers.  Also, many children are trafficked for domestic servitude and they are sold to a family and forced to do many tasks in the household which are backbreaking and tedious.

There are many government officials who are trying to put an end to child slavery.  Many people have realized that child trafficking is a pressing and real issue and it is necessary for it to end.  Many movies are propaganda for ending child trafficking such as Mardaani and Slumdog Millionaire.  While both movies pertain to child trafficking, Mardaani mostly shows sex trafficking of children and Slumdog Millionaire shows the cruelty of child traffickers who make the children beg for money.  Another person who fights for children’s rights is Kailash Satyarthi.  Kailash Satyarthi is the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize winner for fighting against child labour and for children’s education.  He even created the International Labour Organization which has stopped some of the worst kinds of labour.

In conclusion, child trafficking in India is a major and important issue and it is necessary for it to stop.  If people would start paying more attention to child trafficking, many traffickers could be caught and many children could be saved.  So next time you buy clothes made from India, remember they might have been made by small and innocent children.
